It has been an audiobook year for me. Ever since I discovered them in 2014, I have been hooked. There is no better way to make mundane things fun. And though it is debatable whether audiobooks qualify as books and equal to reading. It works for people like me who want to read but time is a big factor to get as many books read as we otherwise would want.

It's the perfect time to look back at the year and see which audiobooks made headlines and the ones I devoured.

My pick of 2015 audiobooks:
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah narrated by Polly Stones who transported us to 1940's France, taking us through the journey of two sisters during World War II.

Honorable mention:
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins Narrated by Clare Corbett, Louise Brealey, India Fisher

A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?

Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

My favorite:
Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series narrated by Lorelei King. If you like paranormal romance, this one is a must. It's a good time to catch up on the series before the next one which is due on 12th January 2016.
