I usually have a reading challenge up here on my blog at the beginning of every year. 12 books that I plan to read each year that I call All Thingz Bookish Reading challenge. (Check out 2017 All Thingz Bookish reading challenge here.) Last year was an epic fail, but I did read some of that list, and overall, I read 12 books. So, not bad, really.

My 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge

This year I want to shake things up a little and read six fiction books from different genres and six non-fiction. Unlike previous years, I am not going to make a fixed list and add them as I discover new books throughout the year that I want to read at that moment. And if I land up reading more books that would be awesome.

So, I am beginning 2018 by re-reading The Big Magic. I think I should make this like a thing I do every year. It is such an inspiring book, and I feel every creative person should read it and non-creative person too. If you’d like to know my thoughts on it, here is a book talk I did a while back.

Next, I am super excited to read Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. If you haven’t heard of her, well where have you been? If you need a source of positivity and inspiration, Rachel is the person to follow. If you pre-order her book #GWYF you will also get some digital freebies. My favorite of all the many things she sent was the workshop. That was so motivational. It pumps you up and makes you want to go after your dreams right this moment. If I have managed to peek your interest here is where you can get to know more about the book.

Moving on to fiction. I have already finished reading Cheap at half Price by Jeffery Archer and have started reading Twisted Fate by Jessi Elliott which is due to release on February 13th, 2018. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of the book and will be doing a book talk about it soon.

Some of the books I want to get to this year are:

To keep up with what I am reading, my thoughts about what I have read, and what I want to read, follow me on Goodreads.

Now it’s your turn. I want to know what are you challenging yourself to read this year. Whether you want to start reading or push yourself to read more or like me, you want to explore different genres. I want to hear from you so leave me a comment below with your list. And if you are on Goodreads, I’d love to follow you too, so do leave your Goodreads handle.
