I was a little apprehensive about this blog post with all the talks about goals, and goal setting, everywhere you look. And I almost decided not to write this post. But then it didn’t feel right. I share what I feel will help you, here on my blog and I think I need to talk about it here and now.
As you may already know I have a four-month-old baby boy so when I decided to set goals and plan out actionable items to achieve them, I thought it would be a bit of a challenge. And then I thought how it would feel to set some realistic goals and achieve them. If you know me, you’ll know that I do a lot of things because I either want to experience something or I don’t. And I really want to have the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the year when I review my goals. And that feeling is usually my motivation. Every time I feel I am losing focus or momentum, it that sense of accomplishment that I want to experience is what I tap into.
Today I thought of sharing some of my goals with you not only in the hopes that maybe you’ll find some inspiration from them to go after your own goals but also as an accountability partner. I want my readers to hold me accountable and check in on me once in a while to see if I am keeping up with them.
Here are 7 things I am going to achieve this year:
1. Physical Health: Drink sufficient water every day. Get Fit so that I have more energy.
2. Mental Health: Meditate for 10 minutes every day.
3. Finances: Learn about investments. Write my legal will.
4. Relationships: Stay in touch with friends and family.
5. Entertainment: Go on a family vacation.
6. Career/Work: Take a writing course to improve my writing. Publish five writing related workpieces.
7. Reading: Reading 6 Self Development books + 6 Fiction books.
I also have a lot of mini goals/milestone goals that will help me achieve these main goals. There are more goals than these but sharing all of them here will be too much.
