It’s time to press Reset

We are at the halfway mark of the year. Is it just me or do you also feel that this year is slipping away? We hear so much talk about goals and goal setting at the beginning of the year, but steam runs out by the time March rolls around, and no more “this is how you set and work towards your goal.” I am guilty of this. But This year among the many things I did was schedule time to review and reassess my goals. Being a new mom, I am in entirely new water when it comes to how much time I can give to all the things I want to do. One thing I have learned so far is the importance of giving myself grace and the importance of prioritizing. Like actually! I have never had a tiny baby in the equation, so I am humbled by the experience I have had the past couple of days. Just this morning I was telling my mom that I want just to give up and let go of my plans with my writing and everything else. But she insisted I keep going for only one more day and tomorrow; for another day.

I am grateful that I have people around me who do this, push me, nudge me. I don’t know if I’ll be able to post this blog today or even a week from now. But I’ll just write, and then I’ll edit, and then I’ll add images and then, and then and then, instead of two hours that it would have taken me to write this, it probably will take me two weeks or maybe even more. But I’ll work on it because it’s the only thing I can do. Put my head down, and instead of scrolling through my Instagram feed looking at all the beautiful people accomplish these amazing things and feel unproductive, I’ll write. Just one more word, just one more blog, just one more story.

I feel the silence on my blog needs to break so this is where I press RESET. No promises about when I’ll post or how often, just this one and then the next and then the next.
I am writing to you, if you are feeling unproductive or like you are not getting anywhere, pause, reflect, and reset. And know that you are not alone. If not anyone else, I am with you.

I will be sharing a new series on goal setting and accomplishing as I reset my goal, so keep an eye out for that.

And now tell me how you are doing with your goals, have you been on top of them or are you finding yourself getting overwhelmed too? Let me know what you are doing with your goals in the comments below and let's help each other out.
