Book Talk - The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci
The premise of the story is different. Something that I haven’t come across recently. Even though I don’t read a lot of fantasy, I was still able to read this because it wasn’t an elaborate fantasy which I liked because I could get into the story more easily.
Right from the first page, the story kept me hooked. It’s fast-moving, and even though the book is long I didn’t feel it was, it didn’t drag in any place. (You can read the first three chapters here and get a feel for it yourself.)
There are a whole lot of adult content, language, violence, and sexual content. The sexual content is very well handled. The relationships are matured, and so the sexual relationships shown are according to the character’s nature and in a healthy way which was pleasant to read in the sense that it didn’t leave me feeling yucky and squirmish. Representation too has been done very well and organically (just like it is in real life) and not like a lot of books where they are there so for the sake of it.
Even though this is not a genre I read, I quite enjoyed it and would recommend it.
My rating is four stars.
